ST. GEORGE — Nine people were arrested Thursday on various drug charges after the Washington County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in the area of 1200 West and 350 North in St. George.
The nine arrested were all found at the same residence and in close proximity to the drugs or had the drugs directly in their possession, St. George Police Captain Kyle Whitehead said.
The following people were arrested: Brandon James Wetzel, 32, of St. George; Jaylyn Ann Stocking, 44, of St. George; Breanna Mae Sorrels, 26, of Washington; John Clark Palmerson, 37, of St. George; Garrett Bernell Lewis, 27, of St. George; Christopher Perry Jorgensen, 24, of St. George; Tylor Scott Leon Brotherson, 20, of St. George; Dorthea Dawn Ashmore, 33, of Ivins; and Douglas Conrad Anthony, 35, of St. George.
While the Task Force was conducting its investigation, Whitehead said, Brotherson, Anthony, Ashmore, Wetzel and Palmerson were found to have various illegal drugs directly in their possession.
Palmerson’s charges included distribution because of the quantities he was holding. “He had a pipe with heroin residue, and larger amounts of heroin and cash,” Whitehead said, “he had over $1,000 cash on his person.”
Brotherson was found in possession of two balloons of heroin, while Anthony was in possession of a grinder containing suspected marijuana, and he also had possession of heroin and methamphetamine, Whitehead said.
Charges and bail
Wetzel, Lewis, Sorrels, Stocking, Brotherson and Ashmore were each charged with third-degree felony drug possession and class-B misdemeanor possession or drug paraphernalia. Sorrels is also being held for a probation violation. Wetzel and Lewis’s bail were set at $6,083, each; Sorrels, Stocking, Brotherson and Ashmore’s bail were set at $5,583 each.
Palmerson and Jorgensen are each facing charges for second-degree felony drug manufacturing/distribution and class-B possession of drug paraphernalia. Palmerson’s bail is set at $13,083. Jorgensen’s bail on the possession and distribution charges is set at $10,583 with additional bail on five outstanding warrants listed at $6,500.
Anthony was charged with two counts of third-degree felony drug possession, one count of Class-B misdemeanor drug possession and one count of Class-B misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, with total bail set at $16,666.
All individuals were booked into Washington County’s Purgatory Correctional Facility.
Persons charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
