ST. GEORGE – A traffic accident involving two cars resulted in no injuries but temporarily slowed eastbound traffic at 2654 East Red Cliffs Drive in St. George at about 6:58 p.m. Wednesday.
A green Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a woman with no passengers was making a left turn from the intersection near Texas Roadhouse restaurant to go westbound on Red Cliffs Dr. when a black Hyundai Tiburon with a male driver and no passengers crashed into the left front side of truck.
The accident was observed and first reported by a passing St. George Police school resource officer who was on his way to a high school basketball game to provide security, St. George Police Sgt. Spencer Holmes said.
Because the accident caused the front seat airbags to deploy in the Hyundai, St. George Fire Department responded, however there were no injuries, Holmes said.
Both vehicles were towed and the roadway was cleared at about 8:15 p.m. The driver of the Toyota pick up truck was cited for failure to yield on a left hand turn, Holmes said.
