ST. GEORGE – A man and woman have been booked into Washington County’s Purgatory Correctional Facility after receiving 40 counts total between them of drug related charges. At 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, the police were called to the Ramada Inn on 1440 East St. George Blvd for a disturbance call.
“They were found to be in possession of controlled substances, paraphernalia, fraudulent prescriptions and scripts that were forged,” St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said. “Each one was a separate charge.”
Stephen Adams, 30, of Las Vegas, Nev. has been charged with 17 counts of fraudulently obtaining a prescription or a controlled substance, two counts of drug possession and one count of drug paraphernalia.
Lisa Marie Nielsen, 31, also of Las Vegas has been charged with 18 counts of drug fraud, one count of drug possession and one count of drug paraphernalia.
The drug paraphernalia charge involved a syringe in the couple’s possession, Despain said.
Adams and Nielsen were booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
