ST. GEORGE — The first baby born at St. George’s Dixie Regional Medical Center this New Year’s day was Milo James Satterfield. Milo was born at 12:52 a.m. Wednesday and both Crystal Satterfield, his mother, and baby Milo are doing well.

Baby New Year, Milo, is “a big healthy boy,” his father, T.J. Satterfield, said. Milo weighed in at 9 pounds, 6 ounces and is 21 inches long.

The Satterfield family, from Veyo, includes Milo’s big brother, Maximus.

Dixie REgional will present “Baby New Year” with a gift package full of items such as diapers, wipes, toys and blankets.

“Every baby is a miracle, and Baby New Year is a good way to annually honor the miracle of each new life,” Director of Dixie Regional’s Women’s Services Amy Christensen said.

Dixie Regional recorded over 2,200 babies born in 2013.
