Traffic collision at intersection sends one to hospital

ST. GEORGE – Two pickup trucks collided in an intersection, sending one person to the hospital after one of the trucks ran a red light.

Around 11:40 a.m., Saturday, a black Nissan pickup truck was traveling westbound on 100 South through the 400 East intersection, St. George Police Sgt. Wade Johnson said. According to witnesses at the scene, a silver Ford pickup traveling north on 400 East ran a red light and collided with the Nissan, he said.

The driver of the Ford was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center. Police on scene could not confirm the condition of the driver or the extent of any injuries.

Both trucks were inoperable following the collision and had to be towed from the scene.
