ST. GEORGE – A woman was transported to the hospital after being struck by a truck at the intersection of 400 East and 700 South in St. George Thursday morning.
“(The incident) is still under investigation, but preliminaries are going to show that a truck was coming south on 400 East and made a turn (on to 700 South) and hit a pedestrian that was in the roadway,” St. George Sgt. Wade Johnson said.
The woman was injured in the accident and was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center, Johnson said. He did not know the extent of the woman’s injuries or her overall condition.
The accident occurred just after 9 a.m. and blocked the lanes on the west end of the 400 East-700 South intersection for a short time as responders aided the injured woman and dealt with the accident scene.
It is yet to be confirmed if the woman was in the crosswalk when the accident took place. The driver had yet to be interviewed when Johnson spoke to media about the accident.
