ST. GEORGE – Omsk, Russia, may seem as far removed from Southern Utah as possible, but it was there that Irina Valentine Hansen first set her sights on a career in the hair industry. It was there that her journey began.

Irina Hansen’s ambition was evident from the outset. After completing her training at Vidal Sassoon in Moscow, Russia, looking to give her two daughters a better life, safety and security, in 2001 she made the decision to pick up and move to the United States.

“Leaving everything I had known in Russia, to move to another country where I only knew a few people, was very difficult,” Irina Hansen said. “I started considering moving back to Russia, but I tried to stay strong.”

Through her difficult struggles, a new light emerged, shining a ray of happiness into Irina Hansen’s life, and staying strong would prove to have its rewards.

“That’s when I met David,” Irina Hansen said. “We were so happy together. We still are so happy together.”

Having a love for nature activities and everything Southern Utah has to offer, Irina and David Hansen, an Architect and multidisciplinary artist from Southern California, decided to create and build a life together in St. George … and a new journey began.

Fusion Organic Salon is a big player in the organic hair industry, in fact they’re the only fully organic hair salon in St. George. With trained and refined eyes, Fusion Organic Salon professionals work with natural products that look amazing on their clients and accentuate their best features.

“Working with hair dyes and chemicals for so many years was causing me health problems,” Irina Hansen said. “I knew there had to be a better way and that I had to try something else for my health and the health of my clients.’’

After receiving a professional, ammonia-free, organic permanent hair color system to try six years ago, Irina Hansen said, she knew she had found a better way.
