ST. GEORGE — At approximately 7:40 p.m., Tuesday, an accident occurred at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Westridge Drive right in front of Arctic Circle. No injuries were reported, but both cars had to be towed from the scene.

Allegedly, a silver Toyota Corolla was headed west on Sunset Drive, ran a red light, and t-boned a silver GMC Sierra that was traveling northbound on Westridge drive, Sgt. Dave Williams of the St. George Police Department said. The driver of the silver Toyota Corolla admitted that he was distracted, Williams said. The driver didn’t notice there was a red light until he was going through the intersection and collided with the Sierra.

The passenger side door of the GMC Sierra was damaged and the front end of the Toyota Corolla was crushed in.

“Thank goodness nobody was injured in this,” Sgt. Dave Williams said. “Just kind of a reminder that you gotta focus on driving instead of being distracted.”

Woops – The driver could not have been going “west on River Road” and crossed Westridge. There are many accidents on River Road, but this was not one of them.

The road names have now been changed in the story. Just an insignificant mistake. The car did t-bone the truck and the pics show that. Also, there are many way to spell “whoops”, but “woops is not one of them. See, how insignificant was that comment? Mistakes get corrected if you wait long enough.

Can’t get enough of those distracted red light runners. Well…so much for the recent “No Distracted Drivers” campaign the City just commenced. Happy Holidays…be safe.

Well, so much for the “Don’t drink and drive” campaign that been around much, much longer. Didn’t help either. Pay attention! Keep an eye out for the other guy.

This is gettinf out of hand. This is the 6th or 7th accident in in the last month due to the fact the driver was destracted. By what? It was not snowing….Lets do this. NO MORE CELLPHONES AT ALL WHILE DRIVING! Now this is speculation of course, but history has told a different story.

Everyone should take the defensive driving course which teaches the moment you get in your car the cell phone goes away till you get out of the car!
