The fun, witty theory of evolution; DSU President’s Colleagues Meeting

ST. GEORGE – Dixie State University will hold its second President’s Colleagues of DSU meeting, featuring a detailed, fun, and witty presentation entitled “Evolution: A Nine Letter Word,” by DSU adjunct professor Dr. Richard Miller, on Monday, at noon.

The meeting will be held in Room 156 of the DSU Russell C. Taylor Health Science Center, located on the Dixie Regional Medical Center’s River Road campus at 1526 Medical Center Drive, and is free and open to the public.

Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965 from Cal State Northridge, along with a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. from UCLA. From 1970 to 1977, he was a lecturer and assistant professor at CSUN. He then went to San Diego State University, where he served as a professor from 1977-2001. He was given professor emeritus status at SDSU in 2001. In addition to his role as an adjunct professor, Miller is a volunteer lecturer for DSU’s ICL Program.

About the President’s Colleagues of Dixie State University

The President’s Colleagues of Dixie State University was established more than 20 years ago by former DSU President Dr. Douglas Alder, and is a group of retired professors and other professionals who live mostly in the St. George and Washington County area. Dr. Alder, who also started an Honors Program at DSU, organized the Colleagues as a way to increase academic activities on campus.

The Colleagues meet together once a month during the academic year to hear presentations from each other and/or invited guests. The next Colleagues meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 2, with a presentation on the “The State of the American Economy” by DSU Udvar-Hazy School of Business Department Chair Dr. Kyle Wells.
