Audition call: 4th Annual Dixie’s Got Talent

ST. GEORGE – Auditions for the Fourth Annual Dixie’s Got Talent contest will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Dixie State University Eccles Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.

Based on the popular NBC-TV show “America’s Got Talent,” the annual Dixie’s Got Talent showcases the musical talents of both DSU students and residents of Washington County, in a number of competitive categories and age divisions. Vocalists, small groups and bands of up to 10 members, which must be private and not affiliated with any school, instrumentalists, and all musicians are encouraged to audition.

DGT Flyer jpegContestants will compete in three different age divisions, including, juniors, ages 14 and under; young adults, ages 15-25; and adult/senior, ages 26 and older. Musicians may also perform a cappella or with accompaniment, whether by CD, pianist or other accompaniment. Prospective contestants may apply for the audition online via the Dixie’s Got Talent Facebook Page.

Selected contestants from the audition sessions will advance to the Fourth Annual Dixie’s Got Talent grand event, which will be held Jan. 24, at the Avenna Center Cox Auditorium on the DSU campus. Qualifying contestants will compete for top honors in each age category, as well as prizes from a number of community sponsors.

Proceeds from this year’s event will go to benefit DSU scholarships through the DSU Scholarship Associates.
