Hurricane police arrest two men; burglary, drug distribution

HURRICANE – The Hurricane Police Department arrested two men Monday on counts of burglary and drug possession.

Andrew Bailey, 28, and Wesley Tomlinson, 35, both of Hurricane, were stopped for driving an unsafe vehicle with visibly balding tires Monday afternoon.

According to arresting documents, alleged burglary tools were found in the vehicle. These items included broken locks, hack saws and bolt cutters. Tomlinson was also found with two knives.

Both men admitted to a residential burglary and a storage unit burglary. Multiple suspected stolen items totaling over $5,000 were also found at the suspects individual residences.

After admitting to the burglaries, the men allowed a Hurricane Police Department officer to search Bailey’s car. Substances suspected to be meth, marijuana, and other drugs were found. Tomlinson then admitted to distributing meth.

Both men were arrested and booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility. Tomlinson was booked on 10 charges and Bailey nine.  These charges include misdemeanors for possession of paraphernalia, second and third-degree felonies for burglary and weapon possession, and first-degree through third-degree felonies for various drug charges.
