ST. GEORGE – A man was taken to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a van on Riverside Drive in front of the post office Monday morning.

A van and a motorcycle were both traveling west on Riverside Drive around 8:50 a.m., Monday, when a collision occurred between the two,” St. George Police Sgt. Albert Gilman said. “According to witnesses, the van was moving into the turning lane and the motorcycle was somehow caught in the van’s path.”

The rider, an adult man, was knocked to the ground along with the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said. The accident is still under investigation.

Traffic was reduced to single-lane travel for eastbound and westbound traffic as emergency responders dealt with the incident. The roadway was completely open again by 9:20 a.m.

Check the blind-spot people. Remember SMOG. Signal your turn. Mirror check. Over-the Shoulder Check. Go.

Prove that nobody is in the blind-spot. Prove it by looking carefully.
