(June 2, 1977 – September 3, 2013)

Braydon Ellsworth Nielsen, age 36, returned to his heavenly Father on September 3, 2013, in St. George, Utah. He was born on June 2, 1977, in Murray, Utah to Raymond and Elise Nielsen. He married Melissa Clayson in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on July 10, 1999. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School and went on to CEU and Dixie College and earned his Bachelors in Nursing. Braydon was currently working at Dixie Regional Medical Center in the ICU and with Life Flight.

Braydon was very competitive and had a passion for marathons & triathlons. His love for the Southern Utah Triathlon Club and his friends and co-workers were what fueled his drive in achieving his goals. He loved life, people and most of all his family.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa, and his four children, Mikayla, Kyler, Rylan and Katelyn, his parents, Raymond and Elise Nielsen, his three brothers: Bryce (Trudy), Blake, Britton (Krystal), his in-laws Herb and Mary Lois Clayson and their four daughters, eight nieces and six nephews.

Braydon crossed the finish line of this life with medals of humility, courage, determination, strength, humor and love. BOOYAH!!

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Washington LDS East Stake Center, 1835 Washington Fields Road, Washington, UT.
  • Visitations will be held Friday, Sept. 6, from 7-9 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, and on Saturday at the Stake Center from 8:30-9:45 a.m. prior to services.
  • Interment will be Saturday, Sept. 7, at 4 p.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, Spanish Fork, Utah.
