MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. – A tour bus ended up getting swept away in Mohave County, Ariz., while attempting to cross a flooded wash Sunday.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office reported the tour bus was returning from the Grand Canyon Skywalk area when it drove through the flooded wash at mile post 16 on Pierce Ferry Road. Like Southern Utah, northern Arizona had also received heavy rains over the weekend.
The bus ended up being taken nearly half a mile down the wash where it came to rest on a 45 degree angle.
People on the bus, 35 in all, were able to get out through the emergency exits. No injuries were reported.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and charges may be pending.
