ST. GEORGE – Intermountain Healthcare Dixie Regional Medical Center’s Sports Performance Training and Sports Medicine programs are partnering with the St. George Running Center and the City of St. George to offer ideas, training tips and expertise to interested runners and other athletes at a free presentation on Aug. 6.
The presentation is part of a series of free health lectures and will be held at 6 p.m. in the Sports Performance Training gym, on the lower level of the Dixie Regional Health & Performance Center.
The lecture will be led by Dr. Robert Andruss, an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with many years of experience in treating sports related injuries. Andruss will focus on ways to minimize injuries during endurance races, including how to prevent “runner’s knee.” There will also be a question-and-answer period following the presentation.
