MINERSVILLE – The Black Mountain Fire is reported to be at 100 percent containment as of 7 p.m., Saturday. The fire was stopped at 4,566 acres Friday as firefighters made significant headway against the blaze. While many resources dispatched the fight the blaze will be released tonight, some fire crews will remain at the scene to mop up the fire and deal with lingering hot spots.
No structures are threatened at this time, though the Chalk Hollow, Maple Springs, Black Mountain and Camel Hollow roads remain closed until the fire has been completely extinguished.
Light smoke may still be visible from Minersville and Highway 130 over the next three days.
The fire was ignited by lightning Tuesday and located three mile southeast of Minersville in Beaver County.
