WASHINGTON COUNTY — A single vehicle rollover occurred due to a collision Friday afternoon around mile marker 26 on state Route 18 near mile post 26 between Brookside and Central, Utah, resulting in one woman being transported to the hospital.

Washington County Sheriff’s department responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:30 p.m. from a caller reporting the accident.

The lady that rolled said her front end was wobbly,” Dan Tanasz, Brookside Fire Chief said, “and she veered into oncoming traffic and rolled after clipping the tire of another car.”

The green Ford pickup did not look good when responders arrived to the scene. They called in Life Flight immediately.

Upon finding the woman in the car, she seemed OK and life flight was cancelled. The woman was extricated from the vehicle, though she only complained of upper back pain.

“There was no blood or visible injury,” Tanasz said. “She just said ‘I need my purse’ so I went back and got it for her. She was in good spirits aside from the accident.

In addition to the Police Department on the scene were: Brookside Fire Department, Central Fire Department, Pine Valley paramedics/EMTs, and Enterprise. Enterprise transported her to DRMC.

At this time, the woman has not been cleared from the hospital.

Tanasz said the incident is still under investigation and did not know if any citations would be issued.
