CEDAR CITY — It was the final day of the Utah Summer Games, but as always, things closed with the popular and competitive track and field events from Southern Utah University’s Eccles Coliseum.

Hundreds of competitors gathered on a sweltering day in the Iron City to compete in the age events to crown the fastest, longest throwing and highest jumping Utahns.

St. George News photographer Dave Amodt captured some of the days events, which also included the top archers in the state, also competing for gold.
