ST. GEORGE – Members of local tea party groups, among others, protested in front of the St. George federal building this morning in support of the Tea Party Patriots’ national “Audit the IRS” rally at the U.S. Capitol.

Rally participants are gathering and signing petitions in reaction to recent allegations concerning IRS profiling targetting specific conservative demographics.

“We are protesting the unfair targeting of conservative groups by the IRS,” rally organizer Robert Sinnott said. “We just want to spread awareness.”

Sinnott organized the local protest, and is an active member of tea party efforts. He said those interested in joining them, as well as those looking for more information, can get in contact with local groups through social media and by attending future events.

Locally, participants signed a petition which will be sent to Sens. Mike Lee and Orrin Hatch, demonstrating Southern Utahn’s support for the Tea Party Patriot’s cause.

“It’s time that Washington sees first-hand just how outraged the American people are by these discriminatory acts,” challenged the St. George event’s Facebook page.

My mother in law worked for the IRS for 30 years. She said it was the most corrupt place she had ever seen. She also said it was almost impossible to fire anyone that worked there no matter how bad of an employee they were. She was uppper management in a state office. She got great pay great benefits but hated every day she was there. The IRS is corrupt and will stay that way as long as allowed to.
