ST. GEORGE – Whenever big events like the St. George Marathon or Ironman St. George 70.3 come to town, questions from the public about the race route – and the road closures and detours that accompany it – aren’t far behind. To help answer questions motorists and prospective spectators may have about the route, quick reference guides have been provided by Ironman St. George 70.3 and are detailed below. Road closures, maps and detours
Road closures will affect the area around Sand Hollow State Park/Hurricane, St. George, Snow Canyon State Park and Ivins on Saturday, May 4. Various portions of the race route will be affected between the time frame of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Locations where police will allow individuals to cross the race route – expect delays:
Suggested detours:
Washington detours:
- If possible avoid Telegraph Road, Washington Parkway, Buena Vista Boulevard and Green Springs until noon.
- State route 9 access from Telegraph – Use Interstate 15 access at Exit 10
St. George detours:
- Red Cliffs Parkway – use 700 South
- St. George Boulevard westbound – use 700 South
- St. George Boulevard eastbound – use Bluff Street to 700 South to 400 East
State Route 18 northbound – use Sunset Boulevard to Dixie Downs Drive to 1800 North to Tuweap to South Canyon Paryway to SR-18.
SR-18 southbound – use Snow Canyon Parkway to Tuweap Drive to 1800 North to Dixie Downs Drive to Sunset Boulevard to Bluff Street
Snow Canyon Parkway eastbound – use Tuweap Drive to 1800 North to Dixie Downs Drive
Snow Canyon Parkway westbound – use Tuweap to Snow Canyon Parkway
Winchester Hills – Ledges Southbound on and off ramp closed. Use 5745 North. Follow the pilot car.
