Semitrailers set on fire; Iron County Sheriff seeks public input

CEDAR CITY – On April 2, at approximately 10:43 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to a report of a structure fire near 600 North Iron Springs Road in Cedar City.  At approximately 10:49 p.m., deputies arrived and could see there were at least three semi tractors fully engulfed and spreading to a fourth.  The semis were parked next to a metal building.  There were four semitrailers and a small, metal building that are a total loss.

The business had minor damage to the building.

Cedar City Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire which is appears to be accidental at this time.

The estimated loss to the four vehicles is estimated at approximately $25,000-$30,000.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public if they saw anyone in the area near the time of the fire. If so, please contact: Sgt Del Schlosser at 435-867-7500, or contact the sheriff’s office via  email or the anonymous Tip Form.
