ST. GEORGE – On April 6, The Learning Center for Families will host the 13th annual Run 4 Kids fundraiser.
Race entries, volunteer and sponsorship opportunities are still open. As a sponsor, companies can promote their business, provide employees with a healthy team-building experience and help The Learning Center for Families realize their dream of providing a warm, welcoming facility always staffed with caring professionals to help the community’s disadvantaged children.

Run 4 Kids is a qualifying race sanctioned by the St. George Marathon and a great way to start the season for avid runners. Participants are encouraged to bring the whole family to enjoy a wonderful day outdoors while supporting a very worthwhile cause. Runners will experience the stunning scenery of Coral Canyon and the many prizes – and surprises – the course has in store.
Check-in opens at 7 a.m. and the 1K children’s fun run kicks off at 7:30 a.m. The adult 5K and 10K will begin at 8. Course maps and registration information can be found on the Run 4 Kids website.
More than 500 runners participated in the 2012 race, raising over $10,000 for The Learning Center for Families. This year, the organization hopes to bring in at least $15,000 to support the many programs available at its 20,000 square-foot St. George facility.
The Learning Center for Families makes a difference every day with services and support for vulnerable pregnant women, infants and young children in Washington County and on the Arizona Strip. By providing education, workshops, clinical services and in-home visits, the organization’s programs help children achieve a level of self-sufficiency that would otherwise not be available to them. It is community and donor support that provide this opportunity to families who need help to improve their child’s health and development.
