Confused accident victim gets help by wandering onto I-15

KANARRAVILLE – Cedar City dispatch center received calls from people traveling Interstate 15 this evening concerned about a man apparently confused and wandering along the highway.

Iron County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched around 10 p.m. and located the man near milepost 42 on I-15 just south of Kanarraville. Sheriff’s Deputy Chance Kirkham said the man, approximately 20 years old, had been driving Old Highway 91 when his Ford 250 Powerstroke rolled many times.

Old Highway 91 runs adjacent to I-15 and is not much travelled. Kirkham said the driver  wandered 150-200 yards onto the freeway to get help.

He was transported to Valley View Medical Center but no specific injuries have been identified.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be an influence, Kirkham said, although the accident and its cause remain under investigation. No citations or arrests have been made at this time.
