Best-selling hip hop act Macklemore and Ryan Lewis appear at Dixie State

ST. GEORGE – Best-selling hip hop act Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are coming to Dixie State University‘s Hansen Stadium on March 8.

Rapper Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis, both from Seattle, are a premier hip hop act known for their electrifying live shows and innovative music videos, which have garnered over 100 million views on YouTube. Their smash song “Thrift Shop” has owned the No. 1 spot on iTunes and the Billboard Hot 100 for the past four weeks and their debut album, “The Heist,” peaked at No. 2. They have performed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and “The Late Show with David Letterman” and have earned national media attention.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis take the stage at 8:30 p.m.; doors open at 7 p.m. Pre-show entertainment will be provided by DJ Marcus Wing and features a variety of vendors made available by the DSU Student Association.

Tickets cost $20 for general admission, or $15 for DSU students with valid identification. A limited number of seats are still available and can be purchased at the Avenna Center Cox Auditorium box office or online.

The concert, part of the 2013 mtvU Woodies Tour, is a spring break kick-off hosted by mtvU, MTV’s college network. Segments of the performance will be featured on mtvU’s television channel and online.
