Missing St. George woman found safe in Spanish Fork

ST. GEORGE – Shonna Weese, a 36-year-old woman who disappeared from St. George last week, was found alive by authorities in Spanish Fork Monday morning.

Weese vanished from her family’s home in St. George at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, driving their brown 2003 Buick. She was listed as a missing person with the St. George Police Department later that day.

Her cell phone was tracked to the Spanish Fork area over the weekend and authorities were advised to be on the lookout for her.

The Spanish Fork Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a church around 8 a.m. on Monday morning. After speaking with officers on scene, Weese willingly accompanied them to police headquarters. She was later released to a family member living in the area.

Weese, who is approximately 37 weeks pregnant, was reported to be in good physical condition. She did not give a reason for her disappearance.

“As soon as she was found without any signs of criminal activity, we closed the case,” said Officer Derek Lewis, SGPD public information officer. “Unless she comes forward with something criminal in nature, we will not investigate further.”
