ST. GEORGE – Saturday evening a single car accident was reported at Dickey’s restaurant in the Bloomington area of St. George. The vehicle, a Lexus, was carrying the driver and a second passenger, and accelerated toward the building fast enough to hop the curb and crash through a large glass window before coming to rest completely inside the restaurant.
At the time of the accident, approximately 8-10 people were eating at the restaurant, and at least one was transported to the hospital for injuries.
“I heard a big sound in the lobby,” Max Hadler, a Dickey’s employee and eye witness to the accident said, “As I looked up I saw the front wall cave in, and just a bunch of customers getting hit.”
Neither the driver nor the passenger sustained significant injury, and both declined commenting on the accident.
The driver was cited for the collision. Additionally, the vehicle was significantly damaged, and towed for repairs.

Accidents can happen to anyone. It’s not just older drivers. I know this firsthand.
It was two old people. They accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes. Last year an older lady did the exact same thing and drove through chilis.

I once hit the gas instead of the brake in a hotel parking lot. Luckily, there were no other cars around, because I wouldn’t have been able to react and stop in time if there were. Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye.
Seriously, the elderly need to stay off the road. I know St. George is full of ’em, and it’d take about 87% of the drivers off the road, but revoking their licenses would make this place safer….

Please don’t generalize driving accidents to just the elderly. Yes, like teens, they may be more of a risk factor, but dangerous drivers exist in any age bracket, anywhere, anytime.
Haha another one?? Jus the other week it was Jimmy John’s!
HOW do these things happen? I dont get it…it seriously takes that long to react and realize your going forward, not stoppingor back?!!
