SOUTHERN UTAH – Friday night saw some 60-70 Santas spreeing about Washington County delivering presents to the homes of kids selected through Canyon Media’s 99.9 KONY’s Coins for Kids program.

The Santas, Mrs. Clauses and helper elves volunteered time and gas as well as smiles and hugs while delivering the presents to a diversity of children of all ages.

Volunteer elves showed up Thursday as the Dixie Center was transformed into “Santa’s workshop” with a well-organized implementation of paper, scissors, and tape as gifts itemized for each selected family were prepared for Santa. Once wrapped the gifts were then placed in a numbered bag for delivery to designated families.

Carl Lamar, president of KONY’s Coins for Kids Charity, has been doing this event for 23 years. Lamar said that there were 100 delivery routes carried out Friday.
