ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah, in partnership with the institution’s library and Sears Art Museum Gallery, the St. George Art Museum and the City of St. George, will debut the new Visiting Artist Lecture Series on Dec. 4.

The first presentation will feature nationally renowned watercolor artist Roland Lee. A graduate of Brigham Young University, Lee has exhibited and won awards in over 50 shows, including the National Watercolor Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and Arts for the Parks Top 100. His work has been featured in Western Art Collector Magazine, The Artist’s Magazine, Art West, on the cover of Ensign and is displayed in over 1,000 public and private collections throughout the United States and in several other countries.

Lee, who paints full-time from his home studio in St. George, will deliver an hour-long lecture spotlighting his art, inspiration and the business side of art. He will also facilitate a question-and-answer session. The presentation is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the DSC North Plaza Art Building.

The Visiting Artist Lecture Series, which will be held once a semester, was created to benefit both members of the community and DSC art students. Admission to the presentations are free and open to all members of the public.
