UPDATED Nov. 18 – The deceased driver has been identified as 71-year-old Thomas J. Servie from Aurora, Ill. UHP Trooper Cameron Roden said that there were no signs of impairment or excess speed; however, it will take a couple of weeks to diagram the crash and determine the cause.
ST. GEORGE – A head-on collision on Interstate-15 at mile marker 4 around 4:45 p.m. today has left one dead and one injured.
A silver Hyundai traveling southbound crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a red Dodge.
The driver of the Hyundai was found deceased on-scene. The driver of the Dodge was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.
Trooper Cameron Roden, public information officer for the Utah Highway Patrol, said that the UHP is still investigating what caused the vehicle to cross into the northbound lanes.
The name of the deceased driver has not been released, as notifications are still being made.
All lanes were cleared at approximately 6:45 p.m.
