Dixie State College launches woodwind chamber concert series

ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah’s Department of Music will present the first woodwind chamber concert of the 2012-13 performance season on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Eccles Fine Arts Center Concert Hall on the DSC campus.

The woodwind ensemble consists of the Flute Choir, under the direction of Dr. Candice Behrmann, the Piano Ensemble led by Chris Giles and the Saxophone Ensemble led by Rhonda Rhodes. The program will feature a wide array of music, including classic compositions by Johann Christian Bach and Modest Mussorgsky and contemporary pieces from George Gershwin and jazz great Gordon Goodwin.

General admission tickets for each concert will be available at the door; $5 for adults, $1 for DSC students and faculty with valid identification. Patrons may also purchase tickets online.
