FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Arizona Department of Transportation is completing the final stages of its repaving project on I-15 in the Virgin River Gorge today until Spring.
The project, which cost $11.6 million, covers a 16-mile stretch of I-15 from the Virgin River Gorge to the Utah state line.
Work will cease on Wednesday for the winter. While single-lane closures may remain Tuesday in either direction, all traffic restrictions will be removed Wednesday and crews will not return for the final phase of the project until March 2013, weather permitting. That phase is expected to take approximately one month.

Since the weather seems to be decent can’t figure out why the ADOT doesn’t finish this project now!
Why? Can’t be cuz of snow and ice!

@ Randy Baby and Ken; The temperature needs to be at least 50 degrees and rising to pave. You people don’t get it. There is not much sun light in the gorge this time of year to get the temperature up past 50 long enough in the short days to pave. That is why!
