WASHINGTON CITY – A 77-year-old Washington City man was arrested Thursday on counts of kidnapping and sexual assault.
On Wednesday, the Washington City Police Department was notified of the possible sexual abuse of a child that occurred at a residence in Washington City. The alleged incident took place on two separate occasions between Monday and Wednesday.
A parent of the 10-year-old female victim reported that a neighbor had detained the girl in his residence where she was sexually assaulted.
As a result of the investigation, the suspect was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on one count of first degree felony child kidnapping and one count of second degree felony forcible sexual abuse of a child.
According to the police department’s statement, there are no additional victims known at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
