UDOT weekly road advisory for Washington, Iron counties

SOUTHERN UTAH – The Utah Department of Transportation has released its weekly construction update for its Region 4 which includes Washington and Iron countries. What follows are the various UDOT road projects taking place in the counties and the expected impact they will have on traffic through Nov. 4, 2012.

Washington County

 Interstate 15 Truck Climbing Lane
Contract: A-T Asphalt Paving
Amount: $3,162,355
Location: Toquerville to Pintura Exits
Impact:
– Single lane closure
Activity:
– Grinding bumps
– Paving.

State Route 18 Redhills to milepost 6.5
Contract:A-T Asphalt Paving
Amount:$2,358,950
Location: Bluff Street north of Red Hills Parkway for 2.5 miles
Impact:
– Monday at 10 a.m. blasting is anticipated
– Delays of up to 15 minutes
– Single lane closure
Activity:
– Paving
– Finish items

State Route 9 LaVerkin To Rockville
Contract: Western Rock Products
Amount: $1,418,747
Location: West of Zion National Park
Impact:
– Minimal traffic impacts
Activity:
– Shoulder work

Iron County

State Route 143 VMS Installation
Contract: Cache Valley Electric
Amount: N/A
Location: Near Parowan
Impact:
– Minimal
Activity:
– Installing permanent Variable Message Board
