Pine View nixes Bear River for second win in a row

Pine View tore through Bear River 38-21 for its second win in as many weeks.

The Panthers (2-3, 5-4 overall) jumped out to an early 12-0 lead and never looked back.

Bear River (5-4 overall) kept the proceedings close, but weren’t able to ward off a 12-point Panther fourth quarter and fell for the second time in three games. The Bears cut the PV lead to 26-21 early in the fourth quarter, but the Panthers got a fumble return by Thor Katoa and a TD run by Pano Tiatia to clinch the win.

Pine View running back Tiatia amassed 159 yards on 27 carries, while Prentiss Miller continued his strong play with 102 yards on 18 carries.

Kody Wilstead finished 16 of 33, throwing for 244 yards and one touchdown. The quarterback spread the love around, finding eight different receivers in the game.

As a team, the Panthers collected a whopping 483 yards and continued to make waves as the playoffs near.

They will next face Snow Canyon on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
