Dixie Forum series on ‘Great Faiths’ presents Buddhism

ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah’s weekly noontime “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” convocation series continues its new “Great Faiths” series on Tuesday with a presentation on Buddhism by Marge Kinder.

The Forum will be held in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center on the DSC campus and starts at noon. Admission is free for all community members, DSC students, and faculty and staff.

A practitioner of Nichiren Buddhism, Kinder has been an active leader in the Soka Gakkai International – USA Buddhist Association for Peace, Culture & Education, since 1984, offering public lectures on basic Buddhist principles. She currently serves on the Las Vegas Region Board of the SGI-USA, and is vice-women’s division leader of the SGI-USA lay Buddhist organization.

The weekly Dixie Forum series will continue its 2012 Fall Semester slate with a special Thursday convocation on Oct. 18 of the third “Great Faiths” discussion, featuring a presentation on Islam by Dr. Aslam Abdullah.
