ST. GEORGE – Deborah Christensen, an oncology patient navigator at Intermountain Healthcare Southwest Region’s Dixie Regional Medical Center, will discuss the hospital’s expanded cancer care and support services at the LiVe Well Center’s Active Aging Lecture series. The free event takes place this Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. in the Foremaster Auditorium located at 1424 Foremaster Drive and is open to the public.
Christensen’s presentation focuses on services of care and support that surround the diagnosis and treatment phases of cancer. She will explain how fear may be replaced with confidence, offering compassion and guidance along with solid evidence-based research and information available at the Huntsman-Intermountain Cancer Education Center at Dixie Regional. Attendees may learn that gentle yoga can relieve pain and classes such as Meditation and Stress Busters teach coping strategies that support the journey to wellness.

Standard “cancer care” consists of “radiation therapy,” which is an outrageously crude approach to treating the disease, but no doubt IHC’s bottom-line will see a healthy boost from this addition in light of the booming cancer market. Hospitals love fresh cancer customers. $$$$$$
