ST. GEORGE – A 21-year-old St. George man was arrested after police officers investigated a stabbing Tuesday.
Officers were called to Dixie Regional Medical Center on a stabbing report and found a 22-year-old male with a stab wound to his upper abdomen. The stabbing was apparently the result of a road rage incident.
Officer Derek Lewis of the St. George Police Department said the incident occurred in the area of 200 East St. George Blvd., and stemmed from one car cutting off another in traffic. While stopped at a red light, the suspect and the victim exited their vehicles. After some pushing and shoving between the two, the victim was stabbed, Lewis said.
After examination at the hospital, the victim’s wound was determined to not be life-threatening.
Officers were able to track down the suspect, a 21-year-old St. George resident, who was arrested and booked into jail on a count of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. His bail stands at $5,000.
