SANTA CLARA – Volunteers great and small, by some estimates over 2,000 in number, rally on Saturday to help clean up the mess created by the Santa Clara dike collapse 9/11.

Given the magnitude of the volunteer effort it was not reasonable to get names for all included, and some preferred to serve without their names being publicized. If any correction to names given is needed, we ask our readers’ input.

Please enjoy the community heart of service our growing photo gallery captures:

Here’s a rough tally of how many Santa Clara City employees totally failed at their jobs and what they’re paid thanks to http://www.utahsright.com:

    Wallace R Ritchie, City Administrator, $125,098; Jack R. Taylor, Public Works Director, $124,321;
Dustin C. Mouritsen, Public Works Supervisor, $91,645; Corey Bundy, Bldg. Inspector, $85,754
Casey Stratton, Public Works Supervisor, $72,529

So that’s basically $500,000 every year that Santa Clara is paying to its incompetent employees who should have prevented this disaster from ever occurring by doing what they are paid to do. These are the people you have to thank for destroyed properties and the irreplaceable family history that Mrs. Bivens lost.

Very disturbing, thanks for the stats, Murat. Seems the whole ‘metro’ area has this good ol’ boy syndrome. But we the sheep, will never vote them out, nope, no way can we handle much needed change…

  • Dghws September 17, 2012 at 7:54 pm

To both Murat and Funky Munky, both of you may be right but did either of you help with the clean up and offer service to those who lost so much…or did you offer only your criticism?

    • Murat September 18, 2012 at 8:35 am

I have more important things to do.

      • DoubleTap September 18, 2012 at 1:24 pm

“Important things to do” to Murat primarily involves keeping his bong filled and stoked.

        • Murat September 18, 2012 at 2:30 pm

You are a rather boring person. I imagine you are a common dullard.

          • Murat September 18, 2012 at 6:38 pm

Of course, I am constantly on here posting asinine comments all day, so take that for what you will.

        • Murat September 18, 2012 at 6:48 pm

By the way, I lash out at others online b/c I am grossly overweight, short for a man (and most women), currently have no job, and …

          • Murat September 19, 2012 at 8:00 am

Apparently I struck a nerve in the dullard! I don’t appreciate this pathetic impersonation of me and call for the moderators to put an end to this immediately! It is totally unacceptable. They know who the real Murat is first by his uncommonly brilliant insight and second by his email address.

This presents me with a mildly perplexing issue. There are no gravatar rights or copyrights on comment pseudonyms to my knowledge, at least not in the case of Murat. Can St.George News handle two Murats? I hereby verify and let the readers beware – a new Murat has emerged, there are two.
