North Hills Fire 80 percent contained

Update Aug. 4, 2012 9:30 a.m. This fire is 100 percent contained at 410 acres, crews remain for mop up and tending to remaining hot spots. No structures were damaged or lost.

ENTERPRISE – The North Hills Fire stands at 410 acres and is approximately 80 percent contained.

Located two miles northwest of Enterprise, the fire was started by lightning Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Fire behavior has become minimal with some smoldering and creeping being observed by fire crews.

Firefighters are working to suppress remaining hot spots of the fire, and estimate it will be 100 percent contained by 8 p.m. Friday.

Resources on hand to combat the fire include 10 fire engines, one water tender, two hand crews and various overhead. Approximately 90 people are presently assigned to the fire.

No evacuations are in effect and no injuries have been reported.
