UDOT construction Washington, Iron counties; Dixie Drive Interchange opens

UDOT Dixie Drive Interchange

ST. GEORGE-  Of construction activity and impacts scheduled for this week by the Utah Department of Transportation in Washington and Iron counties, the impact most anticipated will be the opening of the Dixie Drive Interchange.

The construction related activities throughout Washington and Iron counties include:

St. George – I-15 Dixie Drive Interchange  - in the area of and near Interstate Highway 15, Mileposts 5 and 6:

Activity:

  * Road grinding.

  * Landscaping along the street adjacent to the Southgate Golf Course and businesses on the north side of West Dixie Drive.

Impact:

  * Temporary lane closures overnight.

  * The Dixie Drive interchange will open to traffic on July 26-27. 

  * The Dixie Drive Trail west of the tunnel is closed.

I-15 Truck Climbing LaneToquerville to Pintura exits

Activity:

  * Placing road base material.

  * Constructing retention walls.

Impact:

  * 11-feet lane widths.

  * Traffic lane shifts.

SR-18 Redhills to Milepost 6.5Bluff Street north of Red Hills Parkway for 2.5 miles.

Activity:

  * Surveying.

  * Clearing road work area.

  * Excavation.

Impact:

  * Single lane in each direction.

 SR-59 Apple Valley to Hurricane - Mileposts 11 to 23

 Activity:

          * No work is anticipated this week.

Impact:

          * No impacts expected this week.

I-15 Lunt Park Rest Area, Iron CountyNorth of Paragonah

Activity:

  * Removing concrete.

  * Excavating roadway.

 * Hauling material.

Impact:

  * Rest area is open. Please respect work zone barricades and follow traffic control signs.

I-15 Summit to Paragonah

Activity:

  * Rotomilling.

  * Paving.

 * Bridge repairs over I-15.

Impact:

  * Weekday single lane closures during construction hours.

 Cedar Canyon / Restore SR-14. – on State Route 14, in the area of Mileposts 7-18.

Activity:

  * Stabilizing slopes at Milepost 7.

  * Structural work near Mileposts 9 and 17.

Impact:

            * Alternating single lane traffic with short signal delays at two locations near structural work.

            * A small portion of the road is not paved.

            * Tuesday, July 24, open all hours for Pioneer Day.

            * Wednesday, July 25, closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

            * Thursday, July 26, closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

            * Friday, July 27, open all hours for Duck Creek Days and the weekend.

            * Saturday and Sunday, July 27 & 28, open all hours for the weekend.
