ST. GEORGE - For the past several years pickleball has been recognized as one of the fastest growing sports in the world.  Due to the rapid expansion of the sport, the Huntsman World Senior Games has reached its participation limit of 525 registered athletes and registration for pickleball is officially closed.

“We really hate to turn any participants away from the Games,” said Kyle M Case, Games CEO.  “But it’s really a function of court space.”

Athletes desiring to participate in pickleball should call the Games office, 800-562-0589, where the staff will take down their name, contact information, division and desired events.  If openings become available through cancellations, athletes on this list will be used to fill in the gaps.

“We apologize for this inconvenience and understand that it is likely that some people will be disappointed,” Case said.  “We encourage people to call the office and get their name on the list.”

Registration is still available for all of the Games’ other sports including Tennis, Racquetball and Table Tennis.

The Huntsman World Senior Games is the world’s largest annual event for senior athletes age 50 and over and takes place every October in St. George, Utah.

Nice! There was another article about pickleball on here a while back and some goober named Joanne commented something like “no one cares about pickleball”. And I was thinking, “Hellooooo Joanne, wake up and smell the coffee. This is ST GEORGE.” Ha! I love it when ignorant people are exposed. Long live pickleball!!
