WASHINGTON – At approximately 9 p.m., Washington City Police officers responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian collision just north of Telegraph Street on 100 West in Washington City.
Two female pedestrians, ages 62 and 63, were struck by a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old male driver who was traveling northbound on 100 West.
Both pedestrians were transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
An investigation showed the vehicle left the roadway prior to striking the pedestrians.
Speed and distracted driving may have contributed to the collision. Charges against the driver of the vehicle are pending.
The incident is still under investigation.
