PROVO – The BYU Cougars aren’t the only Utah team playing postseason basketball; Utah State, Weber State, and Utah Valley College are all in the College Insider Tournament. It’s a far cry from the big dance and the NIT but the teams still have a lot to play for.
Weber State will host Utah Valley tonight at 7 and Utah State will host California State University Bakersfield tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the first round of the tournament.
Weber State is 24-6 on the season and one of the favorites to win the tournament, Utah Valley is 20-12 and Utah State ended the regular season 17-15. Utah State’s first round opponent CSU Bakersfield finished the year at 16-14.
The tournament does not have a bracket yet. Second round games will go off of attendance and place teams in the same regional area against each other.
