Tigers use height to beat Warriors

HURRICANE – The Hurricane Tigers (3-2, 9-4) used another Boston Gubler double-double to power past the Snow Canyon Warriors (2-3, 7-6).

The Warrior press bothered the Tigers who turned the ball over 21 times in the game. The Tigers outrebounded the Warriors by six and had six more blocked shots.

Taylor Parker led the way with a game high 17 points for the Tigers including seven rebounds. Gubler finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Colton Marshall added 15 poitns.

Chandler Gines and Ben Smith were the only Warriors in double figures. Gines had a team high 15 points and Smith added 11 points.

The Warriors are on a three game losing streak and went from a tie for first a week ago to fifth place. The Warriors end the first half of Region play with Cedar at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Tigers play at Canyon View on Friday at 7 p.m. The Tigers are on a two game winning streak and are in a tie for third place in Region 9.
