ST. GEORGE – Clinical laboratories at Intermountain Healthcare’s Garfield Memorial Hospital and Valley View and Dixie Regional medical centers recently received notice they have been awarded accreditation by the College of American Pathologists.
Laboratory directors Dr. Scott Moesinger of DRMC and Dr. Nancy Standler of Valley View were advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of services. The biennial inspection leading up to this accreditation lasts from one to three days and looks at all aspects of lab operation, from blood being drawn to the testing of samples and reports sent to the provider. The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is recognized by the federal government as being equal to or more stringent than the government’s own inspection program.
More than 180 employees of these laboratories are constantly working to improve their processes and to provide high quality laboratory services to the communities they serve and are very proud of this national accreditation.
