Warriors beat Eagles in season opener

ST. GEORGE – The Snow Canyon Warriors opened their 2011-2012 basketball season with a bang beating the El Capitan Eagles 75-47.

The Warriors came out on fire! Gabe Jensen and Ben Gottfredson set the pace for the Warriors scoring 11 and 13 points respectively. Jensen scored all of his points in the first half including three three-pointers and four steals. Gottfredson was all over the place grabbing eight rebounds to go along with his big scoring night.

Starters Chandler Gines and Brayden Linde also played great for the Warriors who led by 20 at the break. Gines finished with eight points 11 rebounds and Linde finished with nine points.

The Warriors were out to such a big lead in the second half they played every player on the bench. Spencer Call was one of them and Call took advantage. Call finished the game with nine points.

The Warriors head north to take on 5A Northridge tonight and Park City on Friday.
