ST. GEORGE – Members of the Washington County Area Task Force arrested a Rebel 13 gang member last night in St. George who was wanted by Mesquite police in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred on Tuesday.
Lt. Dave Moss said Mesquite police had received information that the man wanted for questioning was staying at a woman’s house in St. George.
Task force detectives watching the home followed the woman and two men who had left the house, and pulled them over on a traffic violation.
The vehicle led police on a short chase on 900 S and ran off the road, Moss said. Officers arrested the woman and one man, but the driver led police on a foot pursuit and temporarily got away. (See previous story)
The female suspect was arrested on three counts of obstruction of justice. The other man in the vehicle was arrested on a felony charge of probation violation.
Officers returned to the woman’s home to serve a search warrant and found the original suspect staying there, Moss said. He was arrested on charges of possession of drugs and paraphernalia. He also had a Nevada warrant connected to the shooting in Mesquite.
Detectives later found the man who led police on a foot pursuit staying at another home in the area. After serving a search warrant, the man who fled was arrested and transferred to ICE who booked him into jail in Las Vegas on a federal warrant, Moss said. That man is also reported to be a member of Rebel 13.
