Tigers blow out Wasps

HURRICANE – The Hurricane Tigers beat the Wasatch Wasps 42-7 Friday night at Hurricane High School. Of the 42 point win, 28 points were scored by the Tigers in the first quarter.

The Tigers’ defense held the Wasps to -7 yards rushing for the game. The Wasps did get a touchdown but it was against the second team defense.

The Tigers had 431 yards of total offense. The Tigers scored four rushing touchdowns on the night. Tigers’ running back Adam Thompson ran for two touchdowns in one-half of work as most of the Tigers starters did not play in the second half. Brian Scott led all rushers with 87 yards.

Tigers quarterback Taylor Parker threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Parker found receiver Colton Marshall for a 49-yard touchdown pass and Brian Scott on a 41-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

The Tigers backup running back, Joseph Takau, also scored on a 40-yard run in the third quarter.

Next week the Tigers host Grantsville, which beat North Sanpete Friday night 16-7.
