Thunder to take on Park City Miners in first round of playoffs

ST. GEORGE – The Desert Hills Thunder come into their first round playoff game against the 3-7 Park City Miners on a two-game losing streak. The Thunder are banged up and will be missing some of their best players.

The Thunder finished their season 6-3 but will be missing wide receiver Ty Rutledge who is out for all of the playoffs and probably basketball, as well. The Thunder’s star running back Mike Needham is listed as questionable but will play according to Needham. All Region linebacker Peter Brown is also listed as questionable but according to Needham will also play.

Needham has run for 887 yards and 11 touchdowns. Quarterback Porter Harris has ran for 546 yards and seven touchdowns. Harris has also thrown for 1,045 yards and eight touchdowns.

Quarterback Heath Vincent who has thrown for 16 touchdowns and receiver Jono Schettler who has 10 receiving touchdowns to lead the Miners.
