HURRICANE –The Pine View Panthers (2-4, 0-3) travel to Hurricane to take on the Hurricane Tigers (6-0, 3-0) tonight at 7 p.m.

The Panthers have had three close losses to open Region play and have to beat the best 3A team in the State to not drop to 0-4 in Region 9 play. A loss would eliminate the Panthers from playoff contention and be the worst start in Region 9 play in Panther football history.

The Tigers come in blowing teams out by 25 points per game this season, scoring a Region best 42.5 points per game. The Tiger offense is led by running back Brian Scott. Scott is averaging an outstanding 140 yards per game with 16 rushing touchdowns on the season. The 16 touchdowns is seven more then any other running back.

The problem for opposing defenses is not just Scott they have to stop; Weston Yardley and Jared Edwards average a combined 100.3 yards per game and Adam Thompson averages 37 yards per game. In all, the Tigers average 334 yards per game, almost 100 yards more then the second best rushing team the Pine View Panthers 247 yards. The Panthers lead the Region in total yards per game with 442 yards per game.
